Abstract

Comparative morphological studies of 135 isolates of Tilletia controversa Kuehn (TCK) and T. caries Tul (TCT) showed that the depth of reticulum of the teliospores possesses a significant interspecific identification character. Results of approximately 104 data showed that there are very few overlapping between isolates of TCK and TCT. the difference of reticulum depth between TCK and TCT possesses specific and distinguishable features. Results of tests of both artificially infested and market samples showed that the crilical index value derived by Logistic R Model (LI-R Model) could differentiate and delimitate the teliospores in the market samples. Based upon the above studies, it is expectable to explore a new and reliable method of detecting TCK teliospores in import grain shipment.
